JB Associates acted as quantity surveyors on a project for a blue-chip client, in the renovation and renewal of their research and development hub.
The client is an international information technology company, specialising in producing and selling computer software, while also offering consulting services, events and programmes to help clients develop their businesses through their software.
The biggest of this client’s UK technology labs is situated in the South of England, within an impressive Grade 2 listed 18th century house. This building also holds a museum dedicated to the progress of the company, and a private members club for leisure activities and events.
In order to maintain this site (used for R&D by the IT company since the 1950s), JB Associates was employed by the client as the primary quantity surveyors. This included pre and post-contract surveying, commercial management and project support on various renewal and replacement projects.
The exact works consisted of lighting control upgrades, stair tower decoration, roof replacement, capital plant replacement, flood protection and various refurbishment and redecoration schemes.
