Sponsoring the Rose Ladies Series

JB Associates golf

A number of local companies were thrilled to be supporting and sponsoring the first event of the Rose Ladies Series hosted in Brockenhurst last week.

This event marked the return of the women’s professional sport to the UK after a compulsory break due to COVID-19, signifying good news for the local area as well as sports fans and professionals.

JB Associates Construction Consultancy is one of the companies that sponsored the first event of the series. As an enterprise that endeavours to support other small and local businesses, JB Associates is excited to have been involved and proud to see Brokenhurst Manor Golf Club getting the recognition it deserves.

Julian Butler, Financial Director at JB Associates, says, ‘Brokenhurst Manor is a beautiful course and it is fantastic to see it host the first event in the re-opening of Women’s Golf. JB Associates Managing Director (Ashley Buckland) and I have played the course often and the Rose Ladies Series is a great opportunity to get involved in supporting local events.’

JB Associates is based in Lymington and provides construction consultancy services across the UK and Europe. While they have witnessed industries struggle during lockdown, they are now seeing business pick up again and believe that events like this will encourage a gradual and promising return to normality.

Brokenhurst Manor Golf Club hosted the first of eight events in the Rose Ladies Series on Thursday June 18th. It was Charley Hull, UK Number 1, that won the inaugural event of the series and took home a £5000 prize. Among the 46 other competitors in the competition is golfing legend Dame Laura Davies.

Justin Rose, former Golf number one and tournament sponsor, has spoken out in support of the Women’s sport. In conversation with The Telegraph, he said ‘you cannot distinguish between men’s golf and ladies golf…the dreams are same from the outset, but it is the opportunity and the platform that is skewed.’

Justin and his wife, Kate Rose, have donated £35,000 to the tournament. This amount has been matched by America Golf, with Justin commenting that he was ‘delighted’ with the company’s support.

Created by Brokenhurst Manor head professional, Jason MacNiven, and Ladies European Tour golfer, Liz Young, the event took place behind closed doors but highlights are available on Sky Sports Golf.
